War Room

By David Almgren

I’m a Portland Oregon native, graduating from Multnomah University in 1993 and intentionally embarking on a journey to go into the entire world and preach the gospel. Where would this 15-07-21 AUG Almgren Photo 10614162_10205027268422133_6967336881390281520_njourney take me and how would it play out? Twenty-two years later I can say the journey has been incredible, with many highs and a few low points of desperation along the way. My life’s voyage has included multiple mission trips, two church plantings and numerous years as a pastor to youth and children. In 2008 I faced a fork in the road and an opportunity to work in the world of faith and family-friendly films. I decided to head down this exciting road and have had the privilege of working on the audience engagement/ministry teams for over 25 feature films. Currently I am working on two life-changing films. Each movie delivers a powerful message that I pray will shake the church. The first film is “War Room” and the second is a movie called “Woodlawn”.

War Room opens in theaters nationwide August 28th. It is the long awaited new movie from the Kendrick Brothers – creators of Courageous, Fireproof and Facing the Giants. War Room is a compelling drama ripe with humor and heart and explores the power that prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of our lives!!

The on October 16 Woodlawn arrives in 1000’s of theaters. This is a football movie. But it is also a film based on an inspiring real-life story about love and unity in a school torn by racism and hate in the 1970s and chronicles a revival that started with the Woodlawn football team and lasted 10 years.

Both War Room and Woodlawn are films that will inspire the church and cause people to reflect on their personal journeys. I hope and pray that each film will play a part in stirring renewal and personal revival throughout America. My journey in film continues and allows me to fulfill the call the Lord put on my life long ago ‘to go into all the world and preach the gospel.’

The studio is currently hosting a series of influencer, advance screenings for Woodlawn. If you are an influencer interested in attending a preview, please contact me by phone or email to receive an official invitation. If you are interested in learning more about these two films and how you can utilize them in your community, please email me or give me a call.
