STM ConneXion 2020 is the only mission conference exclusively dedicated to short-term missions! This means everything during the weekend–plenary sessions, workshops, exhibitors, and networking time–relates specifically to your needs and interest! You’ll hear from Steve Corbett, co-author of When Helping Hurts and Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions, and Joseph Anfuso, founder and president of Forward Edge International. Both speakers will challenge and inspire you while equipping you for better short-term mission trips. Plus, you and hundreds of other like-minded missionaries will be led in worship by Jason Seymour, worship pastor at Summit View Church in Vancouver, Washington.

The SOE pre-conference includes snacks, continental breakfast, and lunch on Friday. The main conference includes snacks, continental breakfast, and lunch on Saturday. A diverse and delicious food cart pod is just a 3 minute walk from the church for other meals.
For lodging, simply search for hotels in Happy Valley or Clackamas, Oregon.
Plenary Session Info:
Join hundreds of like minded believers in worshiping God and interceding on behalf of those who haven’t heard the gospel. You’ll also hear challenging and inspiring messages from Steve Corbett, co-author of Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions, Joseph Anfuso, founder and president of Forward Edge International. Steve will join us exclusively via live stream directly from the Chalmers Center and address how to plan short-term mission trips that truly benefit all those involved.
Workshop tracks are designed to allow you a deep-dive into your specific area of interest. This year workshop tracks include:
Team Leader: This track will address the 7 most important factors to consider when planning an STM trip, how to spiritually lead your team members, training, and follow-through
Team Member: This track is specifically for those going on a short-term mission trip. It will address how to prepare spiritually for ministry, basic cultural training, how to raise support, and how to build unity in your team.
STM Administrator/Mobilizer: This track is for those planning and sending out teams whether they travel with them or not. Topics covered will include how to leverage technology to work smarter not harder, how to manage risk and crisis, and other helpful components to launching successful teams
Poverty Alleviation: Led by Steve Corbett, co-author of Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions, this track will be an interactive discovery of how to apply proved principles for gospel-centered poverty alleviation. You’ll have a chance to interact with Steve and make a list of specific next steps for your ministry program.
Special Topics: We’ll address a variety of topics that are unique and relevant to short-term missions.
Workshops are a unique opportunity to learn in smaller groups with experts in their subject. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with other attendees as you learn together. These will most certainly be a highlight of your time at STM ConneXion 2020!
THE PRE-CONFERENCE: SOE STANDARDS INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP (SIW)

SOE’s Standards Introductory Workshop (SIW) is a 10-hour seminar designed to help practitioners understand how they can incorporate and achieve competence in all Seven Standards. The workshops are taught by experienced SOE trainers, are interactive, and use case studies and small group discussions. It allows organizations to discover the implications of the Standards and begin applying them to their specific ministry context.

We’ll investigate the 7 Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission using case studies, group activities, and discussions all while discussing how these standards can be applied to your specific ministry context. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn with and from other like-minded mission leaders!
